Cici With an early background in gymnastics and ballet, Cici also trained in jazz, tap, and modern dance forms and then studied flamenco dance for over a decade. She has pursued and performed many other dance styles including Middle Eastern, South Asian and Afro-Caribbean while picking up Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing, Balboa, Kizomba, and Argentine Tango, with a focus in recent years on Salsa, Bachata, Lambada, and Brazilian Zouk. An award-winning choreographer and former adjunct dance theater faculty, her work and performances have been showcased on prestigious stages such as the Southern Theater, Rarig Center, and Cowles Center, and at dance congresses worldwide in the USA, UK, Egypt, Germany, and Poland. A resident of Minneapolis, Minnesota in the United States, Cici is co-director of a Latin dance team. @yungtsi + @watsonjazzy teach weekly classes and compete on tours, garnering multiple Summit Championship and Latin Dance Crown wins with their bachata cabaret routines. Cici has traveled extensively to study with global dance masters, from the Dominican Republic to Madrid and Rio de Janeiro. Most recently, she is invited to teach and perform at national and international destinations and festivals in Hawaii and Malaysia. Initially learning belly dance through Cassandra Shore's school as early as 2006, she is a member of the Guild of Middle Eastern Dance and continued the art over the years, studying with local schools and Renée Szudy as well as choreographing and performing solos to original music compositions by husband Bruce Bolon. Joining Barátok Belly Dance Company this year, she enjoys troupe camaraderie and looks forward to the opportunity to interact with audiences at a wide range of venues.
