Barátok Belly Dance was founded under another name in 1990 at The Minnesota Renaissance Festival and became a permanent act there in The Feast of Fantasy in 1991. Founding member Guinevere Lazarchic became Director in 2002 and renamed the group in 2019. Dani became the Dance Director in 2019 and full group Director in 2020. Barátok Belly Dance still performs at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival and for The Minnesota Renaissance Festival Feast of Fantasy but has since expanded to performing at private, public and community events. They also host their own annual show and teach workshops throughout the year. All choreographies are created by Dani, Eri and Aria as original pieces and performed by group members. Barátok's Dancers are comprised of a variety of individuals with unique dance experiences, backgrounds and education. These Dancers come together to perform in a dynamic and expressive way with the support of their MC/Musician.
